Roy Meerkamper OK, so this is seriously good jazz - all-over-the-place mean-saxophone jaw-dropping jazz. The first listen was terrific, the next dozen will be even better. Thanks to Dillon and Ed for this one. Try this one.
Deidre House

Deidre House Straight up jazz* (ignore the metal/djent tags) led by guitar and sax. This group is very tight, giving us a playfully energetic performance of elegant compositions.

*Ed is right that this is a diverse album, I only meant to point out that the metal tags are completely inaccurate here. Though there are a few points where you can kinda tell that Carl moonlights as a shredder... Favorite track: Alamitos Ave..

about

Carl Mörner Ringström Stockholm, Sweden

Inner turbulence. Lashing out. Hopeful melancholy. Catharsis through music.
Even though the Stockholm based guitarist has been very honest musically on his previous releases, CMR's new release is about as honest and transparent as it gets. Singing/screaming his heart out off of imaginary Souhern California rooftops on "On Matters Of:" adds a new and welcome dimension to the honesty. ... more
